August Writing Challenge

I’m so honoured to be able to host this space for you all to share your support and creative efforts with each other. Please extend your arm all the way out in front of you, turn your palm to face the sky, bend at the elbow and pat yourself on the back.

I’ve also received many messages through my text message number with personal stories and triumphs from this month of writing. I never thought this would have had the impact that it did. I’m definitely feeling very blessed and honoured that’s for sure!
IDEA TIME
I’ve been so impressed by all your work and creativity I thought it would be a valuable endeavour to create a compilation of your works.
Willing participants would include their favourite piece of writing from this month to be added to a book of poems/writings in memory of this writing challenge. If you have yet to submit a piece of writing publicly, you can include it as an anonymous submission if you wish. This book will only be available for subscribers to purchase.
If you have yet to write something but want to be included (publicly or anonymously) there is still some time left! The deadline for submissions will be September 30th 2022.
Next Steps
Select your favourite piece of writing from this month and have a friend look it over for any spelling mistakes or punctuation errors.
Submissions must be under 250 words to be included. Profanity or graphic language are not permitted in this project.

Thank you Graham! I enjoyed the challenge this month. Never did I dream I would be writing poetry much less a blog on Substack. I can't tell you how much I've been inspired in the last seven months by so many to share my heart and to really open me up in ways beyond my wildest dreams. I am truly, truly grateful. This month has been amazing in so many ways, and I thank you and this entire community! Blessings to you Graham, and this entire community! Oh, and by the way, the book is a wonderful and great idea. Absolutely love it!
What a wonderful idea , a book with all the amazing poems that all the talented writers wrote in this challenge. It won’t be hard for you Graham to choose which poems to include in the book as we pretty much have an idea who your favourite writers are from the period of the 4 week challenge. I will definitely buy the book to support all the talented writers in this wonderful little community!! Also looking forward to hearing everyone read their poems at the group chat this Sunday.Thanks again for the August challenge, it was a pleasure to be part of it .🙏💜
